"We had a great time at the escape room, we had a range of ages and it was suitable for everyone (we played the pirate room). Toby was the member of staff there at the time and he was extremely helpful and friendly. Great for a rainy day activity in St Ives and we would definitely go back to play the other room."

"We played the Slayer room and it was very good. We do a lot of escape rooms, but this was one of the best ones I have done, with a lot of different clues we haven't seen before. A really good level of challenge and some really unique touches. Our host, Sam, was great at giving instructions and very friendly. Definitely recommend!"

"A choice of two experiences. We chose Find the Lost Treasure of Captain Kernow. A fun packed hour of clues with the odd hint from Thomas who hosted us. Thomas was a great host and even offered to take photos at the end. Would highly recommend as a family activity or especially a team building experience."

"We visited for our daughter's birthday and had an amazing time! Josh, our host, was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this escape room to friends and family. Also great value for money and time flies during the experience."

"We came as a family of 4 and did the pirate themed room. The puzzles were really original and fun to complete. We did need a few clues but we managed to uncover the treasure in the end! A fantastic hour spent and Toby was an excellent host."

"Great fun and a nice variety of puzzles, some of which we haven't come across before so that was exciting. Love that we were able to take our dog in too!"

PLAYER BRIEFING — FAQS

COMMON
QUESTIONS.

How long does an escape room session take?
Each game is a full 60 minutes of live play, and we recommend you arrive just 2 minutes before your booked slot. When you arrive, your Games Master gives you a short briefing that sets the scene and covers the simple rules, then the 60-minute clock starts the moment you enter the room. Afterwards there is a quick debrief where you can see how you did, hear about any clues you missed, and take photos by the set. In total, allow around 75 minutes for the whole visit from arrival to leaving. Because slots run back to back through the day, please do not be late, as a delayed start shortens your playing time. If you think you may be held up, call us on 01736 887444 and we will help where we can.
How many people can play?
Our escape rooms are designed for groups of 2 to 8 players, and you can book any size in that range online in a few seconds. Group size genuinely changes the experience: with more people you have more brains on the puzzles and more hands to search, so larger teams often feel less pressured, while pairs and trios get a more intense, hands-on challenge. Pricing is per person and gets cheaper as the group grows, from £30 per person for two players down to £20 per person for groups of seven or eight. If you have more than 8 people, or you want several teams playing across different rooms for a party or work event, call us on 01736 887444 and we will arrange the timings for you.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome at Escape Time St Ives, and we are always happy to meet them. We simply ask that your dog stays under control on a lead throughout your visit and is not left unattended at any point. Because our rooms contain detailed sets, props and electronics, you will be responsible for the cost of cleaning or repairs if your dog causes any mess or damage during the game. The venue is on the first floor and is reached by stairs, so please make sure your dog is comfortable with stairs before you arrive. If you would like to bring a dog, it helps to let us know in advance on 01736 887444 so we can have water ready for them.
What age is suitable for escape rooms?
Escape rooms suit a wide range of ages, and the right room depends on who is playing. Lost Treasure of Pirate Kernow is our family adventure and works brilliantly for children aged 8 and up, so it is ideal for family groups and younger players. St Ives Slayer has a darker thriller theme with atmospheric tension and is recommended for ages 13 and above. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult in the room at all times, and the adults take responsibility for what is suitable for their children. There is no upper age limit at all, and our games are enjoyed by teenagers, adults, families and corporate teams alike. If you are unsure which room fits your group, call us on 01736 887444 for advice.
Where are you and where can I park?
We are on the First Floor of Cornerstone House, Park Avenue, St Ives, Cornwall, TR26 2DN, a short walk from the town centre and the train and bus stations. Access to the rooms is via stairs only, as there is no lift, and the venue is not suitable for wheelchair users, so please call us before booking on 01736 887444 if you have mobility requirements. For parking, the nearest large car park is the Park Avenue car park right next to us, and the Station car park is also close by, both within a couple of minutes walk. St Ives gets very busy in summer, so we recommend arriving in town a little early to find a space, as nearby street parking is limited and often restricted.
